Thirty-five years ago, I enrolled my toddler in the school I now lead, and my journey into Montessori began. I have a Biochemistry degree and an MBA; I do not have a Montessori teacher or administrator credential. My journey has taken me, as a Montessori parent and professional, through private and public Montessori schools, connections with AMI and AMS organizations and professionals, and now a faculty member with five MACTE-accredited Montessori administrator training programs. After twenty-four years as Head of School at The Montessori Academy of Arlington, an AMS-accredited school serving children 6 weeks – 12 years of age, I am inspired, on a daily basis, as I work with dedicated Montessori teachers, observe joyful learners and connect with proud parents.
