Monica Johnson (She/Her)Early Childhood Instructional Guide
Monica is an Instructional Guide, Field Consultant, and Practicum Advisor at The Center for Guided Montessori Studies. Her Montessori career began in 1998 when she stumbled upon a part time job working as an aide in the Franklin Schools, now known as Metro Montessori in Washington DC. Within 4 years she completed her education, earned her Montessori Credential and taught as a guide in primary Montessori until 2017 when she transitioned into home visiting. After 5 years of providing home visiting services to children and families, Monica took on a new adventure as a Program Administrator under the American Rescue Plan delivering equitable services to McKinney Vento students attending Frederick County Public Schools in Frederick Maryland. Her field experience includes Montessori classroom education, home visiting, parent education, restorative circles, mediation, grant monitoring and reporting, non-profits, mental health services, private and public school settings, special education and inclusion programs, and McKinney Vento services.
