Cora Heiser Secondary Instructional Guide

Cora Heiser began her Montessori journey sixteen years ago when she took over a young adolescent program at an Independent school outside of Albany, NY.  Under Cora’s leadership, the program has grown from five students to 45 students. In addition to her role as the Montessori Middle School Director, her duties include teaching Pre-Algebra, Social Studies, and managing the student Micro-Economy.

Cora received her adolescent Montessori certification through the Cincinnati Montessori Secondary Teacher Education Program and is Montessori certified in grades 7-12. Cora completed her undergraduate course work at the State University of New York at Cortland, where she earned a Bachelor’s degree and New York State teacher certification in adolescent Social Studies education 7-12. She also holds a M.Ed. from the University at Albany.

In addition to her work with adolescents, Cora supports adult learners on their journey toward becoming Secondary Montessori teachers as an Instructional Guide, Practicum Advisor and Field Consultant for the Center for Guided Montessori Studies Secondary Teacher Education Program.
