Webinar: Biology Meets Montessori: How New Research on Child Development and Sensitive Periods Can Help Your Montessori Practice with Deepshikha Kaur

November 20 @ 7:30 pm - 8:30 pm

Asia/Singapore Free

Webinar Description:

“I can do it myself!” Every parent and teacher has heard it, often at the worst possible moment, when we are running late and the shoes are on the wrong feet. Is that stubbornness, or is something else going on?

A seed does not need to be taught how to grow. It needs the right soil, water and light. After 20 years as a Biology teacher, I see young children in a similar way: they are growing, and the adults around them can prepare for the conditions.

In this session, I share what biology tells us about how young children grow and learn, and how it connects to Montessori ideas such as sensitive periods and the prepared environment. I will be honest about what research supports and what is still debated. You will leave with five simple ideas, and a five-minute observation habit, to try in your classroom or at home tomorrow.
