Cedar River Montessori School, Renton, WA, seeks Middle School Teacher

Cedar River Montessori School, on the outskirts of Seattle, WA, is looking for a Middle School teacher specializing in social studies as well as social and environmental justice to start fall 2020. The ideal candidate will have a deep love and appreciation for early adolescents in all their glory. They will also be interested in the long-term, growing the program with the current co-teacher. There are also many opportunities for collaboration with the other classes in the school and many chances to show off to the community what middle school students can do and be.  Teachers who have Montessori (AMS, AMI, MACTE) 6-12 training and want to take the next step in their career are strongly encouraged to apply; there is an opportunity for tuition reimbursement for an incoming teacher to pursue Montessori secondary training.

Located on 12 acres of forested wetland and pasture, Cedar River Montessori is an AMS accredited, independent, non-profit school for students ages 3 through 14 in Renton, WA.  Cedar River Montessori students follow their natural interests as they explore their world, discovering the interconnectedness of personal responsibility, environmental stewardship, and social equity.  Students learn how to work independently and collaboratively, experiencing a transformative education as they grow into the next generation of engaged, global thinkers who compassionately challenge the status quo.  Founded in 1981, we strive to be a diverse and inclusive community.

Cedar River Montessori offers a generous benefits package which includes medical, dental, retirement, tuition remission, and paid professional development. Salary is based on education, Montessori certification,  WA state teaching certification, and experience ($38,000-55,000).
