SUMMARY:Webinar: The Transformative Power of “Walking Our Montessori Talk”: Addressing and Redressing Some Observable Dichotomies with Jonathan Wolff!
DESCRIPTION:Description of Webinar: Have you noticed a tendency in Montessori schools for the adults – teachers\, parents\, and administrators – to not practice the very Grace and Courtesy behaviors they are inviting students to learn and exhibit? Have you observed students resolving conflicts openly and respectfully at the “Peace Table\,” or in a class community meeting\, only to witness adults criticizing and gossiping about one another\, without ever owning the problem? We teach students to be open-minded and open-hearted\, to embrace the gifts of diversity\, yet how many Montessori schools are still rooted in hierarchies that devalue and diminish the potential contributions of the “untrained” – the Assistants\, Enrichment Teachers\, and Aftercare Staff. \nIf you are open to taking an honest look at our “Montessori Dichotomies” – what we teach children\, but at times don’t exemplify in our own thinking\,\nbehavior\, and relationships\, please join us. If you are ready to accept the fact that our daily behavior has a greater impact on students\, the classroom community\, and school culture than any of our presentations\, we invite you to engage in a two-part series of lively discussions. \nIF YOU ARE OBSERVING ANY OF THESE ADULT BEHAVIORS IN YOUR SCHOOL COMMUNITY . . . \nThis Course Is Designed to Help You and Your Colleagues Resolve These Issues in a Montessori-Friendly Manner – As We Do with Students \n__ 1. People are avoiding engaging in difficult (but necessary) conversations. \n__ 2.  People are stuck in fixed mindsets about others\, which is damaging teamwork and workplace collaboration. \n__ 3. Some staff members are rarely invited to participate in meetings\, or share their ideas\, because they are not Montessori-trained. \n__ 4. There appears to be a lack of agreement on educational outcomes and practices between teachers of different program levels. \n__ 5. People don’t know how to share and compare Montessori curriculum and instruction ideas without judging others’ practices\, which leads to making others feel wrong or incompetent. \n__ 6. There is a paucity of positive feedback – people rarely communicate a range of appreciation for others’ efforts\, progress\, accomplishments\, contributions\, and talents. \n__ 7. People don’t know how to offer or receive constructive feedback. They dance around the issue\, communicate in a judgmental manner\, or receive feedback defensively. \n__ 8. People jump to conclusions before observing and assessing the situation/context – before posing questions\, to hear the whole story. \n__ 9. Assistant Teachers\, who have lots of experience and have demonstrated an understanding of Montessori practice\, are still never allowed to engage in planning and presenting lessons. \n__ 10. Teachers present Three Period Lessons to students\, yet expect the adults they are onboarding and training to catch on to their roles and responsibilities after one oral presentation accompanied by a written summary. (Period 1. with no Period 2. Practice) \n__ 11. While Teachers honor\, respect\, and protect the concentration of the engaged student\, adults (teachers\, administrators\, and parents) frequently interrupt one another’s workflow in classrooms\, offices\, and conversations. \n__ 12.  While Montessori students benefit from “long\, uninterrupted work periods\,” teachers do not have sufficient uninterrupted prep/release time to plan\, prep\, work on the environment\, communicate and train their teaching partners\, or communicate with parents. \nProposed Audience:  Montessori Educators (all levels) and Administrators \nHow to Register For This Event: \nPlease note: You may register at any time before the first live event on July 8th\, 2026. \nRegistration for the event will close at 6:45 PM\, 15 minutes before the start time. \nThis is a two-part webinar. The registration fee covers attendance at both sessions. Be sure to secure your spot early! \nIndividual Registration\n\n\nClick For General Registration: $90 per person\n\n\nClick For CGMS Alumni & Faculty: $70 per person\n\n\nPresenter Bio: Jonathan Wolff is a Montessori school consultant\, leadership coach\, teacher educator\, and author who brings to his work 40 years of experience in Montessori education as a classroom teacher and school administrator. He is the author of numerous educational publications\, including The Self-Awakened Child – Character Education Program. Jonathan holds a Bachelor of Science in Secondary English Education from Temple University and a certification as a Primary guide from the Association Montessori Internationale. He studied with Mother Isabelle Eugenie\, an early student of Maria Montessori.

SUMMARY:(Cancelled) Webinar: From Polarization to Participation: Democracy Starts In Schools with Justin Tosco!
DESCRIPTION:Description of Webinar: Most schools are avoiding the very conversations students are already having. We worry about conflict. About parent reactions. About crossing a line or saying the wrong thing. So we stay safe. We redirect. We shut it down. But in doing so\, we leave students to navigate disagreement\, identity\, and power on their own without guidance\, structure\, or practice. At a time when democracy itself feels threatened\, this is the work we can’t afford to avoid. \nThis workshop challenges the idea that neutrality means silence. Instead\, we’ll explore how Montessori guides can actively build cultures of open dialogue in spaces where students engage with real issues\, wrestle with disagreement\, and learn to navigate conflict within a Montessori framework. \nDrawing from a real student-led discussion model\, we’ll unpack how to: \nFacilitate conversations without steering them\nHold firm boundaries around dignity without shutting down ideas\nNavigate moments when harm\, tension\, or strong emotions arise\nBuild student ownership so dialogue isn’t adult-driven\nThis isn’t about having the “right” stance. This workshop is about helping students think\, engage\, and participate alongside people who see the world differently. \nBecause this is what it means to prepare students not just for school\, but for society. \nProposed Audience: Upper Elementary and Secondary Guides\, Administrators \n\n\n\n\n\nPresenter Bio: Justin Tosco is an educator\, consultant\, and advocate dedicated to building equitable\, relationship-centered learning communities. A third-generation Montessorian\, Justin brings over a decade of experience as a teacher and administrator across both public and private sectors. His work focuses on the intersection of Montessori philosophy and restorative practices\, helping schools cultivate cultures of belonging and align equity initiatives with Montessori philosophy. He has presented nationally at venues such as the International Montessori Congress and The Montessori Event (AMS) on topics ranging from racial equity to educational technology. Justin is a founding board member of the Montessori Association of North Carolina (MANC) and has been recognized as an AMS Innovation Think Tank Fellow. He holds a Master’s in Education and Montessori credentials for both the elementary and secondary levels.

SUMMARY:Webinar: The Montessori Method\, Continued: An Invitation to Make Real Change in the World with Andrew Faulstich!
DESCRIPTION:Description of Webinar: \nWhat does it truly mean to follow Montessori’s vision in today’s world? If education is\, as Montessori wrote\, the “best weapon for peace\,” then why does the world still feel so far from the peace she envisioned nearly a century ago? \nIn this session\, we’ll explore these questions not to arrive at simple or comfortable answers\, but to engage more fully with what it means to live Montessori’s philosophy in action. Together\, we’ll examine what truly makes Montessori a revolutionary pedagogy—and what it asks of us beyond fidelity to albums or method alone. \nRather than “following the method” in a literal sense\, this conversation invites us to consider what it means to embody Montessori’s deeper call: a transformation of the adult\, a recognition of our interdependence\, and a commitment to the emergence of the “New Human.” \nWho Should Attend: This webinar is designed for Montessori educators at all levels who are ready to engage in honest reflection\, meaningful questioning\, and ongoing spiritual and professional transformation. \nIf you’re seeking to reconnect with the heart of Montessori’s vision and explore how it calls us to real change in ourselves and our world\, this session is for you. \nHow to Register For This Event: \nPlease note: You may register at any time before the live event on Monday\, October 26th\, 2026. \nRegistration for the event will close at 6:45 PM ET the day of the live event.  \nIndividual Registration\n\n\nClick For General Registration: $45 per person\n\n\nClick For CGMS Alumni & Faculty: $35 per person\n\nPresenter Bio: \nAndrew attended a Montessori school himself through Upper Elementary\, which is why he returned to the method as a teacher. He opened two Montessori adolescent programs as a founding lead teacher at the middle and high school level. In those roles\, Andrew most enjoyed building deep relationships with students\, creating a holistic humanities curriculum\, and collaborating with adolescent practitioners across the country. \nIn addition to his work at Oneness Family School in Chevy Chase\, Maryland\, Andrew is the Co-Host of the Breaking the Paradigm podcast and an Affiliate Instructor of Montessori Teacher Education at the graduate level at Loyola University. He holds a Masters in International Educational Development from the University of Pennsylvania Graduate School of Education\, a Bachelors in Anthropology from the University of Rochester\, an AMI Adolescent Diploma\, a micro-certification from Embracing Equity\, and a certificate from the Phillips Exeter Humanities Institute.
