SUMMARY:(Cancelled) Webinar: Helping Our Children Be All They Can Be with Mary Ellen Maunz!
DESCRIPTION:Webinar Description: \nThis webinar invites educators to return to the heart of Maria Montessori’s work through one of her most powerful yet rarely quoted ideas: that the true aim of education is to make children happy. Together\, we will explore what this vision looks like in today’s classrooms by revisiting the qualities Montessori described as “normal” and reexamining the concept of normalization as a pathway to joy\, balance\, and well-being.  \nParticipants will be guided to thoughtfully consider the expectations placed on us by parents and administrators—and how those external pressures shape our own beliefs and practices in the classroom. Finally\, we will dive into the meaning of freedom in a Montessori environment\, exploring how offering children the freedom to become fully themselves is not only foundational to learning\, but essential to helping them be all they can be. \n\n\nPresenter Bio: \n\nMary Ellen has more than 50 years of experience as an early childhood and elementary teacher and teacher educator\, lecturer and teacher on six continents. She is certified in Montessori for 3-6 (AMI) and 6-12 (PAMS). She holds a BS in Child Development\, M.Ed. in Integrative Education\, a Master Teacher certificate from the Pan-American Montessori Society\, and a certificate in The Catechesis of the Good Shepherd. \n \nShe served on the MACTE Board of Directors for ten years and was recipient of the MACTE Wisdom of the Elders award in 2014. She founded teacher education programs in the US and Russia. Author of Learning to Read is Child’s Play\, Nurturing Your Child’s Inner Life and the newly released Free to Be\, Mary Ellen is delighted to share her experiences as a mother\, devoted Montessori teacher and human being.

SUMMARY:(Free Webinar) What Every Growing Montessori School Eventually Learns Featuring Martha Carver & Dr. Marc Seldin!
DESCRIPTION:Join CGMS on Wednesday\, March 4th at 7:00 PM Eastern / 4:00 PM Pacific for a practical and inspiring conversation about what it truly takes to lead a successful Montessori school. \nThis free webinar will be hosted by Martha Carver and Dr. Marc Seldin. It will also include information about the CGMS Leadership Certification Course for Montessori school founders and emerging school leaders\, and discuss how leadership training can help launch new successful schools. \nWebinar Description \nAs Montessorians\, we excel at building schools that educate children and delight their senses. We create classrooms where children thrive\, where the environments feel alive with purposeful work\, and where families sense the difference the moment they walk through the door. Many school heads tell us that their greatest pleasure comes from observing their classrooms quietly buzzing with activity. But “beautiful classrooms” is only one aspect of a successful school. \nTo be sure\, hiring the right staff and properly equipping classrooms are important skills. However\, there is much more to making a school successful\, such as marketing\, finance\, human resource management\, parent communication\, and regulatory compliance. Nonprofits need to consider board relations and management. Public school leaders must work within district guidelines and may need to adapt practices to match state and local regulations. Leaders who are not Montessori trained seek to understand the pedagogy and gain acceptance from established staff.  \nSchool leadership can make the difference between a struggling school filled with interpersonal drama and a school with a vibrant and warm community. It can make the difference between low enrollment and a school with a waitlist. Inspiring and strong leadership can steer a school through difficult financial times and ensure that the institution will live on for decades to come. \nThe best school heads can’t do it all – but they do know enough to help lead in every operational area. Join us on the first week of March for a discussion about how leadership training can improve the health of your school community\, strengthen financial solvency\, increase parent satisfaction\, and even invigorate classroom practices \nHow to Register for this Event\nClick Here To Register for Free \n

SUMMARY:(Free Webinar) The Secret to Starting a Successful Montessori School with Martha Carver & Dr. Marc Seldin!
DESCRIPTION:Join CGMS on Monday\, March 2nd (7pm eastern / 4pm pacific) for a practical conversation about the key operational priorities\, common pitfalls\, and the leadership competencies that help a new school grow into a thriving\, enduring community. \nThis free webinar will be hosted by Martha Carver and Dr. Marc Seldin. It will also include information about the CGMS Leadership Certification Course for Montessori school founders and emerging school leaders\, and discuss how leadership training can help launch new successful schools. \nWebinar Description \nIn order to create a place where families and children thrive\, leaders need to blend both practical skills and a strong vision. \nNew school founders quickly discover the hidden curriculum of leadership: building sustainable enrollment\, staff development and retention\, setting tuition with confidence\, creating peaceful work environments\, managing cash flow\, hiring and retaining aligned adults\, communicating clearly with families\, choosing systems that won’t collapse under growth\, and meeting licensing\, regulatory\, and insurance requirements. If you’re forming a nonprofit\, you’ll also be shaping a board that supports the mission without steering the ship into choppy waters. If you’re launching within a public or charter context\, you’ll be navigating district expectations and state or local mandates while protecting Montessori integrity. \nIn the start-up phase of a school\, “beautiful classrooms” is only one chapter of the story. We all want to create environments that feel alive with purposeful work\, and in which families sense the difference the moment they walk through the door. \nThis is where leadership can make or break the dream. \nA skilled leader can be the difference between a school that feels perpetually behind and reactive\, and one that runs with a calm\, confident rhythm. Between a school with uncertain cash flow and enrollment and a stable one which can confidently plan for future growth. Between an environment filled with constant friction\, and a warm community where adults collaborate as intentionally as the children work. \nIn this webinar we will explore how the most effective Montessori founders identify their own strengths and supplement their weaker areas with a strong team. We’ll discuss how much a founder needs to know in order to lead each operational area\, build the right team\, and make sound decisions early\, when the stakes are highest. \nHow to Register for this Event\nClick Here To Register for Free \n
